A fixed bridge is a non-removable type of restoration used to replace missing teeth. They are ideal to restore chewing ability, restore smile, prevent the shifting of teeth.

There are different types of fixed bridges, and they are prescribed according to the restorative need of the patient. The most common fixed bridge prescribed is a combination of porcelain and metal materials.  Fixed bridges made of only porcelain materials are prescribed in selective cases.

Fixed bridges are very durable, however they may need to be replaced or recemented due to normal wear or decay.
