CEREC - Computer Made Crowns and Fillings View Photos

Using a computer and a camera, after your tooth is prepared and cleaned of all unhealthy areas, Dr. Hoffmeier scans your tooth and takes a "picture" of it. That picture is sent to a computer screen where it will be used to precisely design the crown or onlay restoration that your tooth needs. This process can be used for most cases of restorative needs.

That designed restoration is then sent via wireless to a milling machine in our office. The milling machine carves a block of porcelain and fabricates your crown or onlay in a few minutes.

The result is an exquisite restoration of great strength and quality.

Restoration means to bring a tooth closely back to what nature created.

WITH CEREC, USING A COMPUTER SYSTEM, BEAUTIFUL CROWNS AND ONLAYS ARE FABRICATED AND INSERTED IN ONE DENTAL VISIT.

No more dark silver-mercury fillings.

Have you heard of amalgam and composite fillings? Amalgam fillings are a silver-mercury alloy that has been used to restore teeth for more than a century.  Composite fillings, or tooth colored fillings, are a of material that in the recent years has been used to also restore posterior teeth. Composite fillings materials are of good quality and beauty, however are not strong enough to restore back teeth that require very large fillings.

When the teeth in the back of your mouth need very large fillings that take up most of the “biting” surface of the teeth, the use of composite fillings  WON"T  provide the adequate strength and support your teeth need. Therefore the forces that are applied on the teeth when you chew your food can cause your teeth to break.  Silver fillings look very dark and unattractive. Now with technology advances in modern dentistry, this kind of problem has been overcome with the use of restorative materials of much superior strength and beauty, compared with amalgam and composite for treatment of large back teeth.  CEREC dentistry offers this technological advance.

CEREC

With CEREC technology you can be in and out in a single of a single dental visit with a permanent, all ceramic crown or onlay that can fabricated by a computer in many cases.

Finest Dental Materials

A CEREC tooth restoration isn't just convenient, it is also healthy. Many years ago, dentists had few options to repair decayed and damaged teeth other than amalgam, gold, and other metals. With CEREC, we can use strong, tooth colored ceramic materials to restore your teeth to their natural strength, beauty, and function. These materials closely match the composition of natural tooth structure. This means when you eat hot food and then drink something cold, the restoration and tooth expand and contract at almost equal rates. So, your tooth does not crack. With CEREC computerized dentistry we can save as much of your tooth as possible and then use bonding to place the restoration into your tooth.

Therefore with CEREC we save as much healthy tooth as possible while providing you with a dental restoration that strenghtens your tooth.

Smile Enhancement

Your smile makes a lasting first impression. Enhance it with CEREC.

Worldwide, a CEREC restoration is placed every 20 seconds. With a history of nearly 20 years, this equipment has helped dentists place over 6 million restorations. Using metal free materials that are the closest to your natural enamel, CEREC gives you the highest quality restorative care.
